Oscillator Comparison Intensive

A full-day Brisbane workshop where you line up RSI, Stochastic, MACD, and CCI on the same charts, resolve conflicting signals, and write a personal comparison checklist.

Who it is for

Active retail and semi-professional traders who already place orders with a chart open, yet still feel unsure when RSI says overbought while MACD keeps rising. You should be comfortable reading candlesticks and drawing a basic trend line. You do not need prior classroom training — you do need two or three recent charts from your own watchlist to bring on a USB or printout.

Result you leave with

By the end of the day you will have a written oscillator comparison method: which indicator you check first, which one may veto an entry, and which disagreements you treat as “wait” rather than “force a trade.” Classmates often leave with fewer oscillators on their default layout, not more.

What is included

  • Morning block: shared ASX and FX examples with RSI, Stochastic, MACD, and CCI plotted together
  • Facilitated discussion of every major signal conflict on those charts
  • Printed comparison worksheets and suggested lookback settings for day and swing horizons
  • Afternoon block: your own charts reviewed in short one-to-one slots
  • Morning tea; lunch is nearby cafés (own cost)

What is not included

  • Trade signals, portfolio advice, or brokerage recommendations
  • Software licences or platform subscriptions
  • Guaranteed trading results

How the day unfolds

  1. Settle and map — Introduce your typical holding period and which oscillators you already use.
  2. Parallel plot — Work the same price series with four oscillators; mark agreements and clashes in coloured pencil.
  3. Decision language — Draft “if / then” phrases for overbought, oversold, crossover, and divergence cases.
  4. Personal charts — Apply the draft rules to your watchlist with facilitator comments.
  5. Close — Refine the checklist; note one habit to drop before the next session.

Preparation

Bring a notebook, two printed or digital charts from the past fortnight, and headphones if you prefer to review platform audio quietly during breaks. Laptops are welcome; we also supply large printed panes for the morning exercises.
